DY Consultants prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Lakewood Airport in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and FAA guidelines (FAA Order 5050.4B and 1050.1E, Chg 1). The proposed action addressed by the EA is a significant list of short-term projects identified in the most recent Master Plan for the airport. Projects include airside improvements such as obstruction removal and RSA improvements, landside facilities including parking aprons and hangars, and a land release for a business park. A draft EA has been submitted to FAA. The EA resulted in a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), prepared by FAA once all public comments were addressed and the EA was finalized.
DY coordinated with the public agencies to obtain input regarding the impacts from the proposed action. Agencies consulted included the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. EPA and various local regulatory agencies.
