Apron Bravo is the main cargo ramp at Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) and recently underwent a massive rehabilitation program and stand reconfiguration to accommodate aircraft up to the B747-8. DY was the technical lead and played an active strategic role during the construction phase by providing among others, phasing plans to minimize disruption on cargo operations. DY prepared parking and operational plans for each phase of the project, following ICAO standards. Constant coordination with cargo operators, tenants, ground handling agents, ATC operators, contractor’s representatives and airport staff were needed throughout the project to deliver a product that would provide a flexible and optimal solution. The study covered tasks associated to apron parking, aircraft maneuvers, jetblast analysis, marking and signage, ground service equipment integration and airspace analysis.
