Taxilane Capacity and Safety Analysis Farmingdale Republic Airport, New York

Project Info

Project Description

The busiest general aviation airport in New York State, Farmingdale Republic Airport tasked DY Consultants with evaluating potential operational impacts, with an emphasis on capacity and safety, associated with the proposed addition of a third fixed base operator (FBO) at the airport. DY developed a stochastic model to simulate the operations and compute the delays, queues, and head on occurrences of these operations. Based upon the results of the analysis, DY identified and suggested safety measures for the taxilane during periods of peak demand. In addition to analyzing taxilane capacity and safety, DY also evaluated the capacity and safety on the ramp area for a scenario in which the proposed new FBO were to increase operations.
