Runway Incursion Mitigation and Delay Reduction – Teterboro Airport, NJ

Project Info

Project Description

DY Consultants was tasked to evaluate the current airfield operational issues in the vicinity of Taxiways ‘B’, ‘V’ and ‘P’ and develop innovative alternatives that would improve the airfield layout at TEB (North Airfield Improvements). The current alignment of taxiway ‘B’ between the two operating runways, 1-19 and 6-24 created a dependency among the two resources which resulted in a capacity and safety inefficiency. The consequences of such an airfield configuration were analyzed by studying the airport operations and traffic flows. It was established that the airfield geometry created both a ground and airspace congestion, which aggravated an already very congested environment.
